Evolution and Things

Everything right now comes from evolution. The world has been through millions and millions of years of evolution. Not only the physical term but also the mentally as well. from the lecture we have seen the short film about a monkey or an ape smashing a skeleton with a piece of bone. That shows how the brain is developing that ape is thinking. That piece of bone turns into a thing the ape has already invented a weapon for hunting. That scene is the start of humanity turning an ape closer to a human. Humans always create new things to live more convenient and easier. Things are always in the process of evolution

System

System

Everything is driven y some kind of system. System is the base of every thing even the human body is a combination of many different systems. The biggest scale of system we can know right now is the universe, the systems of stars and planet, some are beyond our knowledge. Learning is also a system, we learn step by step developing our knowledge as we grow. Experiencing activates our learning system. Our logic or commonsense is built by the system of the reality world.

The system of Deep Ecology elevates the understanding of the world differently. To understand the system if the world helps us to see in different perception, seeing the world more clear and to understand the relation of the system.

Topia

Heterotopia

The world is a topia, our surrounding is a topia. Human is living in a topia, which everyone has there own world they want to live in. The world that everyone want differently is what we call a “Heterotopia”, a world in their imagination, the perfect world they want. The heterotopia is basically based on the perception of that person on the other hand we can call these world a utopia for each different person. From the lecture we discussed about the movie “The Hunger Games”. This film simulates the three worlds “Utopia”, “Heterotopia” and “Dystopia”. Separating the world into twelve districts, each of them differently. The capital is the Utopia where everyone is happy and satisfied with their life and what they have. The capital provides everything a human wants. Unlikely the other cities have to live completely differently. The quality of life is totally different from the capital. So the quality of living is what separates the definition of each world. 

Place and Space

Place and Space

Place and space are extremely similar to each other. It is quite difficult to define there characteristic. A place is built in a space, but also a space is created inside a place as well. These two words both describe location. The place is like a space that gives the sense of feeling, experience. We can define the characteristic of that place by experiencing it. The characteristic of the place is all based on our perceptions and how we feel, how we receive the experience of that place. A space turns into a place by using it, the function turns the space into a place and we memorize the things that happen inside that space and we turn it into a place.

Erotic

Erotic

What is “Erotic”? The definition of the word “Erotic” would normally relate to sexual desire or something more dark, taboo or things people don’t usually talk in public. After the lecture class, we have changed our perspective to the word “Erotic”. I now have other different ways to define “Erotic”.

In the lecture we’ve discuss about the movie “fight chub”. The main character has to go through a search to satisfies him. At the end he finds  what really satisfies him “fighting”. The experience of getting involve in a fight makes him happy. The movie gives the sense of erotic by simulating the savage life, the real life hidden behind the reality we see. Being alive is pleasure, this movie shows how we live, what we really live for.

Feeling erotic comes from the inside, pleasure. These feeling don’t come at the end, but they appear during the journey.

Aesthetics

Aesthetics

Aesthetic, judgment of appearance, beauty, an important aspect of human senses. It is how people see the world, defining what is good or bad appearance base on the physicality appearance. We “Humans” have this aspect since the beginning of mankind. Since history time the trend and other aesthetics have been changing through time in different ages. In the past woman weren’t like these days, they prefer to be bigger not like models these days, no one said it was wrong those nether the present days. School uniform can also be the case. Our University says that we need to wear the uniform to school, but in our faculty, students wear jeans to school. In our perspective its ok to wear jeans, its not the wrong thing to do, but our teachers and the policy says that we need to wear the correct uniform.  

Relating to architecture, modernism or international style is still popular in these days. Modern style building for some people look like boxes but for some people it looks really beautiful.

During the class we have discuss why modernism became beauty. Modernism started after the age of ornamentation. After the war modernism became popular. For me it is quite simple aesthetics become a part of the cycle, what comes around goes around.
